  4. TTT is designed for minimal system requirements and should be runnable on
  5. just about any IBM PC type or compatible.  A command parameter allows the
  6. program to run on non-IBM or 'incompatible' MS-DOS based machines.
  7. In these cases invoke TTT using the command:
  8. ttt -b
  9. which causes it to use MS-DOS system calls instead of BIOS calls.  In this
  10. case it is imperative that either the DOS ANSI.SYS device driver is included
  11. in the CONFIG.SYS file, or that the machine accepts standard ANSI cursor codes.
  12. Add the line DEVICE=C:\DOS\ANSI.SYS or similar (depending on where you keep
  13. your DOS files) to the config.sys file.  TTT uses no graphics display modes
  14. and so is compatible with any type of color or black and white adapter.

  16. The style files for the speed test are standard ascii files which may be
  17. edited should you wish to expand or modify them.  There is no limit to the
  18. length, they will get split into 11-line screens automatically when the test
  19. is running.  As supplied, they are 11 or fewer lines long as this has proved
  20. sufficient in practise to accurately measure a typist's speed without wasting
  21. their time with lengthy material.

  29. copyrights for the author. Permission is granted for individuals and
  30. corporations to copy and use this software in order to try it out.  If you
  31. find this software useful then please register for upgrades and user suppport
  32. from the author.  The registration fee is $10.  It is an infringement of the
  33. copyright for companies to use this product on a regular basis without first
